These programs are designed to help Ontario SMEs enhance their digital capabilities, improve efficiency, and drive growth through technology adoption.
The Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI) offers 2 programs to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in their digital transformation efforts:
1. Digital Modernization and Adoption Plan (DMAP):
This program assists Ontario SMEs in developing a tailored digital adoption plan by providing up to $15,000 in grant funding.
Eligible SMEs must be for-profit, privately owned businesses with 1–499 f/T equivalent employees and a permanent establishment in Ontario.
The grant covers 50% of eligible project costs, with the SME contributing the remaining 50%. The funding is used to engage an approved Digital Adoption Consultant (DAC) to create the Digital Modernization and Adoption Plan.
2. Technology Demonstration Program:
This program supports the adoption and implementation of commercialized digital technologies by Ontario SMEs that have completed a DMAP.
It offers up to $150,000 in reimbursement funds, covering up to 50% of eligible project costs, with the SME providing the remaining 50%.
Eligible SMEs must have between 1–499 full-time equivalent employees, have completed a DMAP project, and have at least $500,000 in annual revenue in one of the last three tax years.
The program aims to accelerate digital adoption and enhance competitiveness in the digital economy.
